Merlin Entertainments have entrusted Linked to manage the recreation of the front of house public attractions and to manage the integrity of the complex structure sitting above Darling Harbour.

Linked spent significant time on-site reviewing the steel sub and super structure, working alongside specialised contractors and suppliers to ensure the best outcome financially and structurally for Merlin.

Works included the replacement of timber piles below the structure, pile wrapping, cathodic protection, steel rectification and anode replacement. Major front of house areas within the scope include OC2 (The Dugong exhibit) and The Little Penguins display.

The works involved co-ordinating the relocation of the Little Penguins to ensure there was no disruption to the guest experience in the off peak period – a highly complex and detail-oriented task.
