22 Giffnock Ave, Macquarie Park – ACP Façade Works

As part of an entire property portfolio review, Mapletree initially undertook investigative works to find out the polyethylene content of the ACP cladding panels at 22 Giffnock Avenue. Through discussions with NSW Fire Brigade and the project’s consulting Fire Engineers it was decided that all non-compliant cladding would be replaced – with a Fire Order issued under Linked’s guidance, to ensure a fast-track project pace, rather than waiting for DA approval.

In addition, Mapletree decided to undertake a complete overhaul of the external structure, modernising it by way of a façade treatment with an entry repositioning, giving a great emphasis and an enhanced sense of arrival.

The external facade works were completed in conjunction with a lobby upgrade to the building, which expands to the North via a glazed air-conditioned portico with dual entry doors – with the East providing a link to the South Building by way of a new entry. The lobby area incorporates a café and/or break out space for tenants and provides additional arrival space in an area limited by internal vehicle movements.
