Mr B’s Tao Lounge

Reserve Hotels engaged Linked, in collaboration with PDML, to renovate and adaptively reuse a heritage-listed building in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. The project revitalised the historic structure by blending modern hospitality design with its rich architectural character, creating three levels of dynamic hospitality spaces—including a striking ground and mezzanine bar and a vibrant basement nightclub—while retaining and upgrading seven commercial floors above.

A key focus was the meticulous restoration and enhancement of the façade, preserving the building’s historical integrity and strengthening its streetscape presence. The result is a thoughtful adaptive reuse that honours the building’s past while delivering a contemporary social and cultural destination, demonstrating how design can celebrate history while serving today’s urban environment.
